Toontrack EZKeys MIDI recommendations
I found a decent deal on one of ToonTrack's Generic MIDI bundles for EZKeys, and now have to figure out which ones I want to get. I am looking at things like AOR, Classic Soul, Neo Soul and I already have R&B, Rock Ballads, and Funk. This is a product where the audio demos can be difficult, because you can't always tell from listening to a clip how well the MIDI tracks might work with the kind of songs you might be writing. There's also the issue that a lot of patterns might work well in other styles than the ones they are branded with. So which ones have worked out well and which have turned out to be disappointments?

Just get ahold of a few more generic bundles and get them all. That's what I did.

They are both right. Gospel, Classic Soul, Neo Soul. Get a six pack. You keys experts out there, what would Bruce Hornsby play? I love his sound and would love some midi from him. Hope they come out with some Signature pack someday.

Get them all. The pack names don't rigidly define the patterns. There's lots more flexibility.

I did get the six pack, and so far have redeemed the AOR, Classic Soul, and Neo Soul. So far they seem like they will be useful.

Another +1 for the Gospel.....very versatile. If you like the Soul collection, the R&B is vey nice. I'm also very happy with my latest one, Fusion......you just can't go wrong with any of these. However, the only one I didn't really care for (at least listening to the demo's) were the jazz midi's. I like smooth jazz, funky jazz, jazz rock etc....but, this pack just wasn't my cup of tea.

I agree on the jazz. Just can't connect with it.

Some EZKeys MIDI packs are linked to similarly named Drum MIDI or Groove packs. Not picking those.
