Upgrading SONAR to a more advanced edition?!!

What's going on with this Cakewalk? Am I getting screwed here after buying into lifetime updates or will those of us that did be entitled to the new, more advanced edition? Please clarify.

Lifetime Updates is your key to the "new, more advanced edition". Keep updating and you will not be... uh... "screwed."

What didn't you understand? The announcement is really aimed at all those who didn't upgrade yet, it's nothing to do with those of us who have already got Plat Lifetime.
They are giving the rest a month to get off the fence. Afterwards the price structure for upgrading will be more simple, not that it was exactly complicated in the past. It's really just a small change to the pricing.
They certainly gave everyone lots of chances and I think a few people thought they would wait it out and still get the same deal.  You snooze you loose.
