Home Studio and Full Melodyne demo not allowing Region FX

Like a lot of folks (apparently -- I thought this ARA stuff was supposed to make this easy) the Region FX is grayed out no matter what I try.

I have the paid edition of Home Studio, and the full demo version of Melodyne installed.  Both run fine on their own.  Melodyne shows up as a VST3 plugin in Sonar, but no matter what I try with a simple mono audio clip I recorded with a microphone (and then select either the whole thing or a part of) the Region FX stays unavailable.

Anyone have a clue as to what to try?  I'm trying to decide whether to buy Melodyne (the full version -- I don't want the version that comes with higher versions of Sonar) but not being able to get it integrated is pissing me off.

You may need to check in the Cakewalk shop what the exact features are but I doubt that ARA is available in Homestudio.

I'm afraid that buying the budget version of Sonar not get you the top of the range features.

This link will take you to comparison of all versions of Sonar

The current help file for Sonar has a Comparison page that explicitly shows ARA and Region FX are not in Home Studio, unfortunately. The integration of Melodyne as a VST should still work, but is surely less convenient than ARA.

Thanks, that does help a lot (I could find nothing like this on the Cakewalk sales page, where they list all the various features of each product).  It's also VERY misleading, since the Region FX is definitely in the menu (just grayed out).  Would have stopped me from pulling my hair out.

However -- it begs the question (and perhaps you can either point me to that particular Sonar help page, which I cannot find, or just answer this): does the next version up of Sonar (Sonar Artist) offer this?  I don't want to spend a tiny bit more and keep getting frustrated.

And here's the page I was on that does NOT show this feature missing:

Ah, nevermind.  Found that page myself.  Thanks again (I could have sworn I searched for such a comparison before but apparently didn't look very hard.  Sigh).
