Two Quick Questions re: SPLAT

Welp...the ancient XP computer running Sonar 8.5 that I've used for seemingly ever in the voiceover studio finally expired...or is in imminent danger of doing so.  So, I picked up a new Desktop DAW and interface and have installed the latest version of SPLAT.  Of course this meant all kinds of re-wiring and re-setting up the DAW from scratch.  And since the voiceover studio setup is completely different than the music production studio, I'm having to both re-configure and re-learn this new configuration.  To that end...

I have two basic questions that I need answered:
First,  Can I change the background in the Track View to any color I want and get rid of the grey/black track backgrounds??  And, if so, how?

Second, How do I get the console view to open up in full screen mode when I click on "C"??  I know I've been told this before...but I are stupid.
Thank you for your help.

It seems to be possible to change the track view background using the color presets in "Preferences/Customization/Color" but I don't see the setting to change it manually. Theme Editor might be your friend here.

If I understand your second question correctly I find the easiest way is to put the console in the multidock and then use Shift+D to maximize the dock.

Hi. Regarding colors.
Switch to Mercury Theme. Then you will be able to change background colors.

This applies to Platinum as well. Hope it helps.
All the best.

wearehere is right on "docking" the console; best option.
the "C" key hides (or shows) the Control Bar.

Thanks to all!!

The color thingy mentioned in the abov post is to change the track header and the foreground color...I need to change the background color of the whole track/clip area. So far I'm not seeing a way to do that.

Why not just re-install 8.5 on the new computer? Wouldn't that have been easier? You can still do that and keep working while you're adapting to SPLAT.

While I use the latest greatest SPLAT in my music production suite and have developed a totally great workflow...I know I need to "step into the 21rst Century" in the the Voiceover studio as well. I know I'll I've to do things differently...and change my approach to recording, mixing and mastering...but, dang it, it's about friggin time. So...pain me though it might...I'm determined to get out of my rut and learn how to do things in a new way.

That said...I'd sure appreciate a couple of "crutches" to get me started:-)

There is a sticky thread in this sub-forum called "Sonar Resources and Utilities", search for the phrase "SONAR PLATINUM THEMES" and you will find links.

I'm as young as I feel...don't ask. But I have to stay current for my ever younger client base...which, surprisingly, isn't that difficult to do. In any case, this old XP machine has provided many, many years of solid service and is ready to be retired.

As to staying current...I will never stop experimenting, exploring and learning from those younger than me and more in tune with new methods and processes.

(Even if they are bewilderingly dimwitted) ;-)

Yorold, You may want to have a look at Lenses to simplify the workflow for your Voiceover setup:

I ended up using elfinn's Pro Sonar 12.5 theme.  Will work for now.  Will check into "lenses" as well.
