Hit Me Hard

A little bit gritty, very dark lyrics, but still very poppy.

"Dont preach to me, I gave up on god
Just bury me deep, Atleast i will be free
Nail me to a cross, And leave me in pain
Hear me now, This life is like a hurricane"

It reminds me of how optimistic we all were in the 80's (except for aids).  Even your contemplative songs are happy.

This one takes me back to another time. Well done. My only crits are that the voc is too loud. Once brought down the bass needs to come up. Love the harmony. Nice work on this. Great ending too.

Another good song... really getting that 80's synth pop vibe again.  Well done, everything sounds good.   Although I do agree with the John that the bass could be a little more present.

    Hey Kloon.

Ah, yes, take us back to the 80's - why not!?

I am hoping you don't have some seriously masochistic inklings. I know it's art, I know, I know ...

Good mix. Would like to hear maybe some more oomph in the kick/bass. Vocals are at a perfect level. Nice play with octave vocal lines ... good distorted hammer-quarter notes (no, no no no).  Very effective.

Oh, I am glad the pain is not for real. Whew! Thanks for throwing that last line in there. Now we don't need to call the suicide hotline for you. ;-)

Great 80's capture though, if that's what you're going for.

It's really nice to have people interpret my lyrics, especially a song like this who is kinda vague (like most of my lyrics). ;)

thank you for writing a new song from the 80's - it feels like I've discovered something great I missed 30 years ago!

Lyrics totally work, and the money is in the chorus as they say and your chorus is great. Super bgv's and the mixing is super clear.

I'd also take just a hair off of that lead vocal, it's great, very well sung, and in your face is where you need to be! But it's actually touching my face, so maybe just a hair down, I'd try .5 db reduction.

the other elements -synth, drum machine, cool pannd clicky delay thing - wonderful.

    cheers,
    -Tom

Kloon have you heard of dirty loops?  They're my favorite band right now.  The have a song called *hit me* which I imagine had similar origins.  :D:D  They're kind of Jamiroquai meets Leslie Uggams.

Music sounds okay, I think this is Tony or Anthony/Findenzio perhaps? Don't blame God for your problems or use religion as an excuse to blame, you were given a life regardless of what you believe and what you do with it is up to you. Doesn't matter if you are writing for someone else, it's still your voice and to judge whoever you are writing or making music about is the same thing regardless of what religion or lack there of you may have, to judge anyone is wrong!

Just my opinions, no offense meant, take them for whatever you feel worthy of them.

Very nice tune, recalls Depeche Mode or The Human League for me.  Well written and well put together.  There are points where the vocals sound a bit hot in the mix or could use some softening with verb or something...but I am no expert because I seem to struggle with those issues more than most.

A little bit gritty, very dark lyrics, but still very poppy.

    Agreed

    very danceable

I like the three demarcations.  each one could stand alone separately, interchangeable with one or another.

As far as the darkness, let me ask you; are you in a dark place or just imagining that?

I only ask because it will give credence if indeed you are in a dark space, or recently left a dark space, or are in a very bright place because it is dark, or visa versa.
