deletion deletes other tracks "highlighted by software glitch"

Highlighted track for deletion deletes other tracks "highlighted by software glitch" that are off screen to my screen magnification. Either fix glitch or bring up a window asking if youi are sure you wish to delete the following tracks. This glitch also affects other edit functions also.

    Before you delete a track, always clear any current selection: Edit -> Select -> None.

    This I had way back in Sonar 7 and 8.
    At the time I thought it had to do with clip linking.
