True Pianos Upgrade path for Sonar?

Is there still a discounted upgrade path for Sonar Platinum users for True Pianos? And if so, how can it be accessed?

I have been to the 4-Front website and searched it thoroughly and there seems to be a passing reference to a Sonar discount, but no mention of how to get it. Their site does not appear as if it is very active. It sort of has the appearance of an old derelict building nobody goes to anymore.

If I remember correctly, I have used:
    http://www.truepianos.com/cakewalk.php
But I have used X1 or X2 serial... Why no write them?

There was no updates for long time. But it is what it is, if you like it it will not be worse with time.
Since it is old, it still has normal serial key authorization. Even if site disappear, you will be able
install the software (unlike almost all "modern" products from companies which "care about users"...).

Ask them how active they are developing the 2.0 version while you are at it.

Would really like for them to actually release an update to the product.  The Atlantis model that they use to preview the 2.0 technology does sound more detailed (to me).

Seems it has been years since they updated anything.

Since I was able to pick up the VI Labs True Keys bundle (American, German and Italian) for $99 ($349 list), I've completely lost interest in True Pianos. When, oh when, will the Ravenscroft go on sale???

I also upgraded to the full version of TruePianos but I've since been converted to Native Instruments Komplete and haven't looked back since. Their Atlantis version never materialized..

    Peace!

Thanks for the replies. I followed azslow3's link, but it does not work for Sonar Plat. I have written to them. When I get a reply I will post the results.

    Nice deal.

Almost a completely different product though they both make Piano sounds.

8gigs in size vs next to nothing as True Pianos is more of an emulator than a sampler.

That's with UVI's excellent compression. I admit to having a bias for UVI Workstation (free) vs. Kontakt (full version usually required) instruments.

I am not an expert in that topic, but I personally do not like pure sampled pianos (demoed several VSTs, on DP side Yamaha) nor pure synthetic pianos (Pianoteq, on DP side Roland). I have found that I like "hybrid" sound more (TruePianos, on DP side Kawai). At least as a solo instrument (Pianoteq is definitively simpler to combine with other instruments).

On pianoworld.com forum there are many discussions with technical details about advantages and disadvantages of different approaches, including the reason for quite "fanny" size of samples even on modern DPs. I mean for multi-voice acoustic instruments the size of samples is not a guarantee of success, in some aspects that is directly generating troubles instead of "perfect imitation".

     Hello all.
    Reporting back with info.
I heard from 4-Front, and Splat user discount is 30%.  Code must be obtained by submitting a support request via their website.
