What happened to the page with the "future updates"?

... and the announced "ripple editing"? It's gone.
It seems that "ripple editing" is very complicated. I prefer to wait a little longer that it does not work proberly.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.

Maybe a change in management, definitely a change in philosophy. They've returned to the wait and see approach instead of listing their objectives. Much better for the company but not as exciting for the customers. They seem to make these course corrections every year, so maybe they will publish a list of upcoming features some day in the future. Who knows.

I don't think it's a particularly good idea for them to show their competitors what new features they are planning/working on. Based on that, I'm quite glad they have removed it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what each update brings us.

No good deed goes unpunished.  Cake publishes things they hope to do in the future, find that one published thing is harder than they thought and it keeps getting bounced back.  So pretty soon the future page is gone, since it shows failure.  I would have preferred an quick explanation ("we are still working but ripple editing is taking more time to get right...") and a list of things they are actually ready to put out next update.

As far as alerting the enemy - most DAW companies continue to work on the same kind of problems.  There are only so many tools in the DAW shed.  It is no surprise that Cake would be working on ripple edit - Vegas has had such for dog years.  I love how the curser line highlights when the section you are moving aligns with the clips you aren't.

Ripple editing has been a feature of all pro video editing software for dog years. It's unlikely Cake are having difficulty implementing it, more likely more pressing issues, fixes and higher priority features keep pushing ripple editing development back.

Also bear in mind that a month is essentially only 20 working days, so even a few months is not as much as it would seem. Add the overhead of QC and packaging (for each month's release) and the effective hours is even less, so expectation management becomes crucial.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

We have decided to hold off on updating the Coming Soon / In The Oven features while we are planning for the next year but Ripple Editing is in progress and we hope to release it to the world soon.

Its only my opinion but...
They told you what's going on and in return users crucified them.
Example: "Where's the MAC Version"....."Where's Ripple editing"... "Where's the sonar theme editor".

Windows 8.1 X64 Sonar Platinum x64
Custom built: Asrock z97 1150 - Intel I7 4790k - 16GB corsair DDR3 1600 - PNY SSD 220GB
Focusrite Saffire 18I8 - Mackie Control

Since you are planning for next year, I'd love to see more threading for rapture pro voices so it could be balanced across cores.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Good to know the Cake is in the oven as opposed to "the batter has been mixed, now we just need to find the right size baking pan".
