Perfect Lovers

This is the first draft of my latest song Perfect Lovers. Lyrics are a bit dark, but that's life.
Need to redo the vocal phrasing and maybe add some strings.
Hope you like it.

Not my thing, the playing sounds accomplished and the mix works here.

Nice, but perhaps a little too close to 'Gentle On My Mind'. Is that a BIAB backing track?

This isn't really in my ballpark to comment fully. Listening objectively thought the mix and arrangement hangs together nicely, vocals are nice and clear and some very good playing. Enjoyable listen.

I very much appreciate the Lyrics.
and you vocals fir the genre much
the pedal steel is nice, did you play that, because that is top shelf

If you are going for a full sound all in all on all the time you nailed it
I kept imagining that the instruments would come and go with a a little more space in the tune as a whole

Still, I think it is a great effort, there are many shining moments, and country is cool wit me doot. I will need to listen to more of your comps, keep em coming pardner.

Hey, this is a good demo of your song -- the mix is very clear and everything hangs together well -- reminiscent of 70s Nashville. Are you pitching this?

Thanks guys for the listen and comments. I appreciate them.

Wookie, thanks for the listen, though I can only claim credit for the mix as you'll see ......

James1213, I see what you mean about "Gentle on my Mind". Maybe the major, major 7th thing, and the introspection. It just came out that way.
Yes, it started life in BIAB, but the bass is me and those other parts will be replaced by the members of my band. Maybe keep the fiddles.

Biodiode, thanks all the same. Those guys at BIAB sure know their stuff

Jesse Screed, I don't know what to say. I've listened to your music and well ......... I don't know what to say, save, I'm glad you like mine
The pedal steel is from BIAB. Very handy to use for a demo.

ABull, thanks for the listen and comments. I guess I just like that old Nashville style. This will probably end up on my band's next album.

    Cheers

I think it suits the genre really well.

For me, the vocals were a high point...   BIAB obviously did a great job this this style, but there has to be something riding on top of that, and you have it.

    Optimus,

Good song and nice BIAB generated framework.   If you do add strings parts - might consider an organ pad rather the current string pad there in the background now..   Then your fiddle parts and other yet to be constructed string parts will stand out more and the track not too string heavy:)    The steel guitar part sounds like it is stepping on the vocals around 2:23-2:24.

Like the song and performance.   Look forward to hearing the final version with your bandmates.

    Regards

Stevec, thanks for listening and positive comment.

Markno999, I find that BIAB is a good way to get an idea across to the other guys, but this time I thought I'd go further and approximate the finished song. I am aware of the part you refer to, but BIAB generates complete phrases and some times its difficult to edit just so.
Yes, I did have some sort of ambient pad in mind so as to not add too much weight.
Thanks for listening and your comments, Appreciated.

    Cheers

Nice tune, Wal.  Yeah it is vaguely reminiscent of Gentle on My Mind, but I don't think you're too close to be concerned about it.  So, I guess country music must be big in So. Australia, huh?

Philz. Thanks for the listen Phil. Yes, country music is popular down here. We do a lot of miles for it though. Maybe a subject for a song perhaps.
