I asked Cakewalk Presales about this. Their reply was SONAR Home Studio includes 6 instrument plug-ins: TTS-1, Studio Instruments Suite (Guitar, Drums, Piano and Strings), and Rapture Session. They also said they were forwarding this issue to both the web and documentation groups because both have the instrument list wrong.

I just checked my version of Home Studio, I looked in the instrument folder and then on the list in CCC. Rapture is not included on the list under Home studio. In my instruments folder are TTS-1, and the Studio Instrument suite= SI Bass, SI Drums, SI electric piano and SI strings. If Rapture is included as a separate download it is on my general download list in CCC. I just assumed it was there because of my ownership of Platinum. So it is not clear if it is included

Rapture is not Rapture Session. Rapture is not bundled with SONAR Home Studio, Rapture Session is. FWIW both Rapture and Rapture Session are separate installers. Neither is nested under any version of SONAR.

Scook, Thank you for investigating and sharing the correct answer. Also, please tell PreSales thank you for ensuring that both the website and documentation will be updated with correct information. What product hosts the four studio instruments since Sound Center is no longer included with Home Studio?

Cakewalk Sound Center has nothing to do with the Studio Instrument Suite. The SI plug-ins are separate dlls. CSC is a 32bit DPro and Rapture program player. Rapture Session effectively replaces CSC. It is a 32/64bit plug-in that plays CSC, DPro, Rapture and Rapture Pro programs.

Steve- my screen shot was to show what is included with the basic Home Studio download in CCC. All the other installers I am not to clear what they came with as my list has everything that comes with all versions of Sonar on it right now. There is Rapture and Rapture session. I assume they both came with my Professional and Platinum versions. So this is what I'm saying, it's not clear if I also would have received Rapture with Home Studio.

Rapture is bundled with Platinum. Rapture Session is bundled with every version of SONAR including SONAR Home Studio.

Johnny (Cactus Music), Thank you for the screenshot and clarification. It's interesting to me that TTS-1 does not show up in your screenshot. Thank to you and to scook for responding.

TTS-1 does not have a separate installer.

Yes as Steve said, TTS-1 is built right in to all versions of Sonar and this goes wayyyy back in time. It is not a VST so does not require installing separately. It is a DXi synth and seems to be needing an update to run smoothly these days, it's becoming a little buggy on Platinum at least. It's still a very good sound source and some of the sounds are as good as anything else out there. I hope they keep it going. A trick Steve taught me that's a huge time saver is if you uncheck all midi outputs in preferences TTS-1 will automatically load up when you OPEN any midi file. Makes it super easy to preview midi song files.

I found this description for Rapture Sessions in the November 30, 2015 press release: "Rapture Session virtual instrument delivers 4 GB of exceptional sounds with an easy-to-use interface". "It's compatible with sound expansion packs for Rapture Pro, Dimension Pro, Rapture, and Cakewalk Sound Center making it an extremely versatile, useful, and above all, expandable synth". There's also this product page: https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Rapture-Session. The key fact for me is it is a 32/64 bit compatible player that replaces 32 bit only Cakewalk Sound Center.

scook I asked Cakewalk Presales about this. Their reply was SONAR Home Studio includes 6 instrument plug-ins: TTS-1, Studio Instruments Suite (Guitar, Drums, Piano and Strings), and Rapture Session. They also said they were forwarding this issue to both the web and documentation groups because both have the instrument list wrong scook, Will you contact the web and documentation groups to ask when the comparison charts will be updated? Six months later and the charts are still incorrect.

We already have a fix in with documentation and a note with Web. All of these changes will start to go out with the slated maintenance update.
