A crackle at one point of a softsynth on midi timeline

This is very strange.  On my softsynths at measure 17, there is a crackle around the third beat on my soft synths.  It goes away if I remove the note at that point.  I cannot figure out any controller or other matters going on at that point.  If I start the curser on track 17, the crackle does not occurer.  If I start the "playing" at the beginning of measure 16 or earlier, that crackle will always show up on the third beat of measure 17.

What can this be?  Is there a hidden object there?  When I go to "cut" it only allows me to cut the midi note and nothing else.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Is there a tempo change there? It can interact with time-based effects on a track or bus or inside a softsynth and can cause a glitch.

I will check. There should not be a change in tempo - but even if it is the same tempo implanted there, that could cause it.  I suspect it is something like that.  What is weird is that if I start it in the measure with the problem, there is no crackle.  But I start it at least one measure before, the crackle appears at the same spot!

Not duplicate note.  Checking the event window is a great idea.
