Moving from X3 (via Steam) to Sonar Professional (from Cakewalk Store)

Hello!
I currently have X3 Studio installed, which I bought through Steam.  I'd like to move to the current version of Sonar Professional and remove Steam (which would mean removing X3).

I appreciate that I can install Professional alongside X3, but as one is Steam-based (which puts files in the 'wrong' places) and one isn't, how can I ensure that my settings (both for software and hardware such as audio and MIDI interfaces) are seen by the new, non-Steam software, especially if I then uninstall X3?

Or would it be best to install Professional, set it up manually and then remove X3 and Steam?

Thanks,

Richard

First perform a clean uninstall: https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013371/SONAR-X3-Clean-Install-Instructions

Then you should just be able to install the direct version after that. It won't inherit any prior settings that way.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have any more in depth questions in the switch.

Best Regards,
Seth
