NEW VERSION OF "Let's Stay Together" - now with Markno999

I posted this Al Green song about a month ago. A couple of weeks after I originall posted this, Markno999 and I started talking about changing this tune up a bit. So, after some fumbling we were able to come up with a new version of this tune.

Markno added a bass guitar track, piano and a string. The rhythm and lead guitar were the two original tracks that I did.

Thank you Mark for your effort - I know it was a bit frustrating at time - considering the technical gliches we had to overcome - but you are really an amazing musician and you took this tune to a whole new level. Thanks so much.

Nice laid back clean playing on the guitar. Atmosphere sound about right. Didn't hear the original but I like this one. Mark did a fine job with the strings/piano/bass work. All goes together nicely.

Great job on this collab, uh, dare I say, Marky Mark?

All kidding aside, this is a great example of adding to a track without getting in the way of the original vibe.

LOL!  Love it! Dan's a funny man!!!

Mark and Mark - this is really nice!  love it.

one thing - what's the clicking sound? not sure, it's when the lead is playing, so maybe a delay was added to the guitar and I'm hearing the pick noise delayed between the channels?  I don't - it's a little distracting to me.

    other than that, love it!

I still hate the rhythm guitar. I really just don't see the appeal. When everything else is so perfect. I find this to be common amongst us amateurs, we always think our track needs more than it does. I'm guilty too.

I love the track, I just hate that rhythm guitar part because it distracts me and reminds me that I'm listening to a track rather then enjoying the music.

This still sends me away, all your songs do.  The veranda on hillside beach bar, with my lady.  It sounds like it was very hard to play, on all parts.  I really like the guitar at 2:40.  Just a cool tune with much feeling.  I don't mind the rhythm guitar, maybe it could be turned down a little, but it fits well to me.

    Nice, thanks.

I love the song forum, so much variety and talent.

First impression - it doesn't sound like anything was "added", more like it was designed to be this way.    Smooth...

I loved the original post and I love this version.  The additions were perfect and complemented the original two tracks.  What more can be said besides excellent.  I would love to hear more collab's like this.

Enjoyed hearing this one Mark. You know me, I can't comment on the mix because I am not a mix master as some here are. Enjoyed hearing the Ocean and riding the waves blissfully in a quiet atmospheric type of Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Oh sorry, I meant Relaxing type of somber musical thought where the sounds go while riding the waves.
