Ilok love...catch 22

Have never hid how much I love and appreciate Ilok as it has always been a curse from this end. Fully respect the opinions of those who have never had a problem and love the thing.

Latest circus of errors is over the cheap $2 Xpand!2 or whatever they call it. No big loss in the greater scheme of things.

Installed and authorized thru Ilok to the online account last year, and was okay for awhile.

Computer, a Dell Inspiron went down and I had to replace the motherboard. Got it up and running, fixing the various nightmares of reauthorizations for the programs that went down with it.

Xpand is back to the unauthorized state because the new motherboard changed the computer. Ilok account manager will not let me transfer the authorization because it can no longer recognize the computer to deactivate the license. All activations are used up. Failure note says to buy another license.

Emailed tech support with no answer so far.

Sitting in the warm sun with a daisy flower picking off the petals waiting for tech support to bail me out. Ilok, I love you, I love you not.

ilock has saved me a lot of money over the years. If it's involved in a purchase I never pull the trigger. Hope you get sorted soon.

    John,

Your advice and approach well taken and a simple reliable fix for the curse. Just avoid anything remotely smelling of Ilok. Xpand cool, but can live without it. Better than my current begging to be restored to good grace by a system controlling and blocking digital access for what I already paid for.

Best thing to do is contact them (which you have done) and
explain the situation.   They DO have "insurance", called
Zero Down Time, but you have to pay for it...

Here's to hoping it gets resolved in your favor!

Just a followup. Things are fixed.

Had sent in two tickets, one to Ilok and one to the Xpand guys. No reply so far from Ilok but the Xpand folks reset the license and it works now.

Saw in my Ilok account another inspiring failure, the UVI mellotron. Authorized it (still there). Try to run it and it still requires authorization. Try to authorize and refuses because it is already authorized on the computer. Never heard if it sounded any good or not.
