You could run the SONAR 7 advanced install option and install Pentagon. Keep in mind Pentagon is a DXi. Make sure to install the 32bit version of Pentagon if running 32bit Platinum and 64bit Pentagon for the 64bit version of Pentagon.

It is also necessary to run SONAR as administrator when using Pentagon or modify the registry granting all users full control over HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\rgc:audio software\DXi\Pentagon I like this

There is  similar key in the 32bit section of the registry.

TAL Vocoder is free. Otherwise I'd look at paying for Image line Vocodex, or Melda MVocoder.

try the demos before paying, in case it's too demanding for your system.

JRR Shop and Audio Delux are worth checking for the Vocodex, and seeing the price 'in the cart'

+1 on the TAL Vocoder.   Definitely worth a shot, and the TAL freebies generally sound good.

Has some cool robot voice presets, and fun to play with.

To get it going, you just need to insert the Vocoder as an audio FX in an audio track.  You can either feed a live audio input to this track, or use an audio clip.  The Vocoder will modulate this audio track when you play your controller.

Then insert a MIDI track using your controller as input and route that MIDI output to the Vocoder.

Good times!

thanks for the heads up. I did a custom install,, but for some reason, I get a pop up saying pentagon might be improperly installed. I can see the dll file, and I can see the name in my platinum program, but cant get it to boot. any ideas?
thanks

The "improperly installed" error message is usually the result of not running SONAR as administrator or failing to the change the registry as documented above. Personally, I prefer to change the registry but either method should work.
