Disk overrun error while recording... but I'm not recording, just playing back

Hi,
Has anyone had this issue?  It seems it may have starting after this recent update.  My drive is new,  7200rpm, tons of space.
Everything had been working fine, until I started getting audio dropout messages and then this 'disk overrun' message.

I created a screenshot, and a gif file, but the image upload buttons in this 'post new thread' window won't let me chose to upload a file. ( if I click "upload'  it says, select an option below... there is no option.... what the?)

The gif file just shows me clicking play, (with no tracks armed for recording).  The 2 tracks (only 2) will play back, but when I click stop or pause on the transport,  I get this:
"SONAR Platinum
Disk overrun error while recording.
Please shut down other tasks and/or degragment your hard drive."

Yes, the message spells defragment like degragment, and the message also says "while recording" which, I am not.
Though I did record 2 tracks in this file already.  I closed the file, and then reopened and I didn't get the message right away,
but this is happening often, though not every time.  Unable to work like this.

Anyone know what might be happening?  Nothing has changed with my audio interface or anything else, and all was working with Sonar until yesterday.
Thanks,
Bob E

I would do a malware scan, as a first thought.

I would run chkdsk as a first thought.
