Question About Stereo Tracks And Mixing

Hello,
Quick question about stereo tracks....

when recording drums from Battery 4, I can choose mono outputs or stereo outputs.

I realize if I choose mono outputs, I will have a mono track, which I can pan L/R using Sonar's track pan knob.

If choose stereo outs, I must leave Sonar's pan in the center and use Battery's pan.

I plan to have someone else mix my material.   I was wondering what is the best option here.   Everything in mono tracks from battery?

Thing is, I want to "bake in" some of the panning information (pre-mix).   I have one song, I know i want the hats to be on the right only... do i make a note for the mixer or do it myself and export him a stereo track?

Thank You!

normally a drum track will be mono for various reasons.
normally only if the source is stereo with different sounds on left and right, a stereo track is used (fe, a (soft)synth where the right and left portion are not the same.
    hope this helps

I always send the stereo track and let the engineer decide what he wants to do with it.
It is not uncommon to record stereo drum tracks for each individual piece. I do it like that every single time.
as much as I do like some pieces in mono I like sending the stereo tracks off to a separate bus sometimes as an added FX to thicken up the drum sound.
