Split option/Split tool not functioning properly...

When working on a project for long periods of time, I often lose the ability to 'split' clips or tracks at the point of my choosing (whether or not I use the split tool, or right-click).
When I right click to split, no GUI shows up so that I can make my preferences
When I use the split tool, it does not split on my selection.
I have to re-start the project to split my clips/tracks....nuisance!!

    I have the same issue since update.  Split clips does not work and I have to close out and reopen the project to reset and then am able to again.  Not long after that, same issue. 
     
    Sitting here with client while this is happening and it is very embarrassing!!!

    I just experienced this problem.  I'm using Sonar Platinum. How does this bug get reported and fixed?  What is the mechanism?

    Same problem, but only on a freezing tracks.
