Strange way of presenting keyboard shortcuts

Sonar has a strange, and in my opinion incorrect way of showing the keyboard shortcut of a menu item.

For example:
Menu Views
Console View        Alt+2

This is the correct way.

However, if you switch your keyboard to French, Sonar instantly changes the presentation of the shortcut to:
Console View       Alt+é   (e with acute accent)
This is incorrect. Switching keyboard language in Windows should not change the label of the keyboard shortcut. What is more, you can check that Alt+é does not show the console view.

Please fix

these problems (both your threads) should be placed in the problem reports forum and not the general sonar forum
where Cakewalk can review them. posting them here with a 'Please Fix" wont help any as your only sharing them with peers (Sonar users).

    Better yet, open a ticket.

Describe your problem clearly, e.g. "CTL-2 in the View menu is incorrectly translated to CTL-é in the French version". Is there any other text that's also mis-translated? Note all the incorrect French translations you've noticed, since one person is likely in charge of all French translations.

Of course, you're right: CTL-2 is CTL-2 in any language. However, that character string is actually part of the menu text, and that does get translated. Most likely, it was a typo when they were entering the text.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Hum, on US QWERTY layout keyboard the '2' character is displayed without the Shift toggle key nor Caps Lock enabled. On french AZERTY one, you have to press the Shift key to display the '2' character, and it displays 'é' if you don't press the Shift key.
So, the same key on different keyboard layout doesn't produce the same character, IMHO, that the explanation.
BUT, YOU'RE RIGHT, it's an uncommon way to label the Keys. Because generally it is the main symbol of the keyboard that should be label. The magnetism key is labelled 'N' but it produces a 'n'. That's why it's strange.

Opening a ticket is sufficient in this case and the official way to notify Cakewalk about problems with a production version of SONAR. Posting to the problem forum is not necessary.

I see you elected to post in the problem forum anyway. Make sure to add the CWBRN numbers to the subject line of the threads after creating the tickets. Without creating tickets problems reported in the forum may go unnoticed.
