Transform tool doesn't respect selections

Hi All, I noticed that the transform tool doesn't respect selections. Eg, when working on a midi drum clip, if I select just the hi-hat pattern with the intent to make minute velocity adjustments, it will also change the velocity of the kick and snare. The only way around this I could find was to cut and paste the hats into a new track.

I also noticed that if "Show Velocity on Selected Notes Only" is checked, then the velocity markers vanish at first use of the transform tool, making it's changes invisible, and causing me to have to reselect the notes each time I make a change. If the option is not picked, there is no way to make edits to just one part of a complex clip because the velocity markers get crowded out.

Am I doing this wrong? Or is this a design oversight?
