Just when you hoped Microsoft would take a minimalist approach to creating an OS that would stay out of your way, you find that it is plunging even further along the path of creating a department-store-chock-full-of-glitzy-applications masquerading as a system.

I see no difference in my PC operation (either my desktop or laptop) with the Creator's upgrade.  I don't use the Gaming mode or the other new features.  If they are not used they don't do anything.  Latency Mon still shows my systems as "clean".

If you have Win10 Pro, you can use the Group Policy Editor to shut down a lot of extraneous components.
Cortana, OneDrive, Defender, etc...

The screen warmth doo-dad might be useful.  I use f.lux now.

I hate that they are changing Defender.  Change is bad.

I will probably use that.  Game mode for games = probably not.

It's item (9.) at the above link.  They don't give details

How is Defender changing?

Windows Defender will continue to do what it has always done, but the user interface is now integrated into the new Windows Defender Security Center.
