SONAR LE / UPHORIA 204HD/YAMAHAS30

Midi recording and playback issue-
I realize my software and keyboard are "vintage" at this point - however I just purchased a Uphoria UMC204HD and am trying to continue midi recording which I was already doing with a simple UNO plug interface prior. I have looked at Cakewalk/ Behringer /Yamaha and am at my wits end for what key step I must be missing to get midi to /record/playback between these 3. Whats strange is when I first installed the driver I got playback of a previously recorded midi project. Now for some reason even that is not working. Checked the audio MME checked instruments in Sonar inputs and outputs are correct and recoding playback select is correct - I am not a pro but I have used cakewalk for years so this should not be this difficult. Can anyone offer a link or possible step suggestion?...thank you

In Sonar under Preferences/MIDI/Devices make sure the 204HD is checked for both input and output.

At the top of the Track View is a drop down that defaults to "Custom" Change that to "All" and you will be able to see input/output listed when you expand the left side of the Track pane for that track. You can then change those there if needed.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Why are you using MME try ASIO. I have the 202HD and I use the asio drivers UMC that is listed in the input and output. Nothing beats a try.

Thank you I was using MME because I watched videos- but obviously it didnt work..so ASIO? Like I said I am not a software pro-I am a musician first.... I got frustrated this evening and just unplugged the whole thing and plugged in my UNO interface just so that I could record again..and it immediately worked. I will try that thank you so very much for the suggestion.

Did you look in the preferences under "Audio" Devices to see if you have the asio drivers for that interface if not you may have to reinstall the drivers and here is the address to get the latest drivers from behringer.  www.music-group.com/brand/c/Behringer/downloads?active=Downloads
