Sometimes .cwb wont open
I am using platinum, have used older sonars for many years and never had any problems opening bundle files, even older ones. I had an old computer that I used till it died and because it had little storage, so I had to save completed files on a cd or later on an external hard drive. Never had any problems opening any of them. So now, like 5 months into using platinum I have had a few instances where a .cwb file wouldn't open, for one song I had saved the file 2 places on my new computer with lots of storage space, but still saved it additionally on the external hard drive and on a thumb drive too. Yes I know that's overdoing it. I could not open any of those 4 identical .cwb files. I was able to reconstitute the song and then saved it as a .cwp and a .cwb and occasionally the .cwb would open. I finished that song and onto the next, at one point a .cwb of that second song wouldn't open, and so Ive been saving my work in both formats as I go along. Even though I have lots of space on the new computer, I want to be able to save the work file off my computer as I always have for long term storage, or in case the new computer gets a problem. If I save a .cwb file, and it opens, it is a very large file with everything in it, and I like that. If I save it as a .cwp, it seems to make a .cwp and an audio folder that I guess I would need to make sure I have with the .cwp cause it contains all the audio? And if I leave "store audio in its own folder" checked, I get a folder that has the audio files in it, but nothing that opens the work file? So, if .cwb are sometimes unreliable, and I have to use .cwp instead, do I only have to make sure I have a folder with it named audio that contains the audio for it to store it somewhere off the laptop? Any ideas why these recent .cwb files wont open reliably? They contain mostly audio but some midi data that I ultimately archive after I convert it to audio, and I am recording in 24 bit.
