I didn't realize his age either.  I thought Sean was older, but he's three years younger...

He MIGHT have been my favourite Bond.  If not, a close second.
I'm going to have to binge Live & Let Die and For Your Eyes Only tonight.

Roger Moore will always be the one and only James Bond to me.

Mind you, Moonraker was the only Bond movie I ever saw.

Connery Bond was a tough guy.  Moore Bond was a funny guy who used his bran.  I can't think of many other action movies at the time that had much humour.
It also helps that Moore Bond was my introduction to the franchise.  I saw all his before moving on to Connery and Lazenby.

Is that what kept Moore regular?

You might find a podcast of a radio show dedicated to the history of Bond films.  I do believe Connery and the one guy who played Bond once didn't think the films would last. They guy who played Bond once may have made the biggest mistake of his career.

I started collection Bond films back in the VHS days.  I never bought the 2nd one. I finally watched the 2nd Bond film and it was much better than I thought it would be.  I've enjoyed every Bond film.

Actually, George Lazenby refused to play "the company game."  Whoever played Bond had to act like the character even off-screen, becoming a suave, "suited and booted," sophisticated type.  Lazenby wanted to grow a beard, look disheveled, and basically be his own slovenly self.  He chose to be himself as opposed to Moore, who basically lived his life dressed to the 9s and as a polite, witty, ladies man.  Still, I'm sure George made enough money off the one film to never have to work again...

I'd sell out and take the success, women, and wealth.  But I can understand why Lazenby didn't.
