If you have a custom plugin layout you have to go into the plugin layout manager, you'll find it in the VST3 audio effects section.  It's instantly become one of my staple plugins

Got it after rolling back the engineering suite to the 2017.5 pre-release.

What I want to know is why is it limited for use in version 2017.05 and higher.  Why can't it be used in previous versions?

It's only included in the engineering suite since the 2017.05 early access, it's not in the installation packages from any earlier release

Roll back Engineering FX Suite to "Early Access 2017.05 (1.0.4.24) ".

If you can D/L it you should be able to run it, but you can't. It opens but won't work until I do the May update. It does seem odd to me as many use more than one version of Sonar. Looks like it will be worth the wait for the final release.

I'm a lifer but only wanted to get that plugin and wait til the rest of the package is complete. The problem is it will not run on a previous version of Sonar and that seems unfair to anyone that may want to run a previous version.

How do you mean, when 2017.05 is officially released (in about a week), or when Sonar is complete (∞)?

I mean the 2017.05 non-early release version. Frequently the early release turns out to not be the final version thanks to testing and feedback.

OK..still don't see it...I've installed 2017.05 early release from command center, re-installed Engineering FX Suite twice from command center, and still not in my plugin manager. If I search for Adaptive Limiter on my computer nothing shows up...here's a screen shot

Time will tell as I'm in no rush at the moment. Although I'm kind of interested in the Franhauer Procodec from Sonnox.

You have to roll back the Engineering Suite to early access separately from Splat

Cakewalk: Sonar Platinum x64 (Lifetime), Producer X3e, Producer X2
Soft Synths: Z3TA+2, Rapture Pro, Xpand2, Serum
System 1: HP Envy23, Win10 x64, Core i7-3770 3.1Ghz, 8GB Ram

Select the latest version from the product list, right click for the context menu. Go down to Roll Back >. From the options at the bottom choose early release for version 5. This is effectively a beta still this is why it's not the latest stated version.

Repeat the procedure for engineer FX download. Restart Sonar and rescan your plug-ins if you have to. When you look at the VST3 effects folder you should have the new additions.

Or have a read of this.

The 2017.05 Early Access period is over. All updates are now in production. The latest version of the installers should be used.

VST3 Effects folder? Where is that? I simply right click on the efx box of a track. I can see no VST3 effects folder or effects?

Re: Where is the Adaptive Limiter? 2017/06/02 18:57:12 (permalink)
Assuming the engineering FX suite 1.0.4.27 is installed, the scanner ran to completion and a default layout is used, the plug-in should show up. The default physical location for the plug-ins is C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Adaptive Limiter

If the plug-in failed to scan it may be in the VST3 FX excluded list in the plug-in manager.

Interesting, after this last Splat update I also can not see the CA-2A VST 3 either?? I was using it yesterday just prior to the update.

Nor Melodyne, Amplitube 4, LPEQ LPMB and TH3...none of these are now available in the pop out efx menus. They were all there prior to latest update.

Why does Sonar do all this s#$t just for a program update!!!

Re: Where is the Adaptive Limiter? 2017/06/02 19:11:43 (permalink)
ok solved in a fashion...I had to go and create a specific folder, and manually add all of these to it, then add that folder to the pop-out box. So long story short, I can now see it and use it.
