Presets for QuadCurve EQ Feature

Does anyone have information on the upcoming "presets for the QuadCurve EQ" feature?  How is that going to work?

Thanks.

I imagine they'll add a drop down box to select a preset.

    Might just be ProChannel templates?

They arrive in the form of QuadCurve-only ProChannel presets, along with instructions on how to copy just the EQ settings to another ProChannel module. So for example if you already have a ProChannel setup with a bunch of modules but want to use one of the presets, then you'd open the preset in an empty track, and copy the EQ settings over to your existing track.

Sounds a little on the clunky side Craig, and not what I would be expecting.

There is a difference between lowering standards and lowering expectations. Why confuse the two?

To answer a previous question I didn't answer, yes, they'll show up as a folder in the presets menu but of course, you can change that.

As to "clunky," there's no way to call up presets within individual Cakewalk ProChannel modules (of course the Breverb and Rematrix Solo are exceptions, I'm referring to the QuadCurve, Tube, Console Emulator, etc.). You can of course just open the QuadCurve preset and use it. But if you want to add the preset to an existing ProChannel setup that's already populated with an existing set of modules, since you can't load individual presets, you need to copy the EQ settings over from a different ProChannel. It's really not that painful, you just drag and drop from the EQ preset.

If you can figure out a better way, tell us about it.

Yeah, maybe someday preset management will be added to individual Cakewalk PC modules. I would expect that to be heralded as a significant change and not implied in an announcement about additional presets. The new modules would be part of the early release too.

Dunno how feasible it is, but it would be handy to be able to choose a preset in the fly-out panel. As suggested, perhaps a drop down menu similar to the L-Phase EQ?
