eq in pro channel showing clipping.... but levels very low...

Hi guys
I've just noticed that a individual track (using a piano synth) is flashing red in the eq clipping signal,  when its playing meaning its clipping? ... the bizarre thing is though that the meter (for this track) is around -25 db and the overall track is not clipping as far as I can tell. it's the first time I've encountered this and wouldn't mind some pointers on why i'm getting this reading.
cheers
Ben

All VST Synths clip in the red. This is normal. they always have.
The track VST synth is not showing the level but instead its showing the midi through put.

Or try reducing the gain on your piano synth track.

Softsynths tend to be very hot, yes, but the meter on a simple instrument track does show audio, not midi, and a QC clipping light (or any other audio effect clipping light) means the audio is clipping.
Reduce level pre QC and raise it after if the level is too low for your taste.
