[Solved] Softube Tape Machine corrupts Sonar Platinum

I use two Softube plug ins without issue in Sonar the Summit Audio TLA-100A compressor and the Saturation Knob.

So I just purchased and installed the Softube Tape and when I opened an existing project most of the plug ins had the same name of 'Multi Tape'.

Insert WTF look here.... and for the hell of it tried to add any plug in and could not so I uninstalled the tape plug in and Sonar is back to normal.

Sent Email to Softube support.

Anyone else have this problem?

Solved.

Two plug ins are installed 'Tape Multi Track.vst3' and 'Tape.vst3'
Kyle on the Cakewalk FB group said Sonar can't deal with the Multi Track plug in.

I reinstalled and removed the Mult Track plugin from folder before starting Sonar and all is good now.

The only known problem with the Tape multi track plugin was that it wouldn't scan properly. That was fixed for the May 2017 release so it should be working now. I tried scanning it myself and it worked and inserted into SONAR.

unless you are not talking about the 'multitrack' part of the tape plugin, i am going to have to call bs with a capital 'b'

as far as i know the multitrack part of the plugin is only for studio one users and as such will only work in the mix engine fx slot of studio one, it is not a regular plugin fx. i just checked on sonar platinum and as expected the tape multitrack does not even show up, just the vst and vst3 versions.

Extras for Studio One Users
If you run Presonus Studio One, you can not only use Tape as a standard plug-in. Adding Tape to your MixFX slot gives you Tape Multitrack. Tape Multitrack includes all the goodies of Tape, but in addition, you get selectable crosstalk between each individual track—and you can easily control the Tape Multitrack settings from a single interface. The Tape and Tape Multitrack license is one and the same. This means that if you're not a Studio One user but at some future point decide to switch to that DAW, you will already have Tape Multitrack installed, licensed and ready to go.

I meant the Tape plugin inserts into SONAR. Previously the Multitrack version of it would end up crashing the scanner. Now that should be properly skipped since it is only intended for use in Studio One's MixFx.
