wondering if you can assist with something else related to this :Something is causing drifting
i just tested the midi offset and it works great .If i use 128 buffers on my RME Bayface .
There seems to be random drifting when i use 256 -2048 buffers .
Is there any particular reasons for midi or audio drift .
examples :to test this i have 8 x 1 beat midi notes> 36.01.000 to 38.01 .000 >
These midi notes go out and come back into platinum where i record the audio from those midi notes.
RESULTS :
1) 128 buffers -5ms midi offset ( Perfect ) every note
2) 256 buffer 0ms midi offset > recorded audio > 1st perfect ?#?@? > 2,3,4,5 +5ms out > 6,7 is +10ms >
8 is +15
3) 2048 buffers 0ms midi offset > recorded audio > 1st is +40 ms > all the rest are between 10 -50 ms out
Really bad drifting and why ? its in rewire mode its not going to hawaii and back
Can someone please explain if this is normal and if there is anyway to keep my buffers up and stop drifting i really want to use the new midi offset but i cant unless i set my soundcard to 128 buffer and i cant use 128 in most my projects ?
