2017.05 - serious phase issues @ 96 kHz when using VST like AD2 + parallel bus compression

I have created a very simple project using a drum clip from AD2 which I sent to a drum bus and from there to a parallel bus for compression.

Serious phasing issues occur with basically any compression plug-in (tested 5 different vendors) as soon as the project is run at 96 kHz. Even using a very low CPU plug like boost 11 does not work.

Some more observations:
  • Engaging / disengaging the PDC button does not help.
  • If I freeze AD2 VSTi, all is in proper sync. This is very interesting as CPU load in this simple project is not an issue at all (!!!)
  • Note, this does not happen at 44.1 kHz. Simply switch the sample rate on the provided project and all issues are gone.

User feedback in another thread indicated that the offset between the bus and the parallel bus is 64 samples (apparently it has happened somewhere else before).

So by adding 64 samples delay to the parallel compression bus, the phasing goes away, meaning the parallel bus is early. PDC not working properly.

Sonar needs to handle this correctly independent of whether AD2 is frozen or not. It's part of proper PDC.
