Safely use Native Access or stay with Service Center?
What do you guys think about managing Native Instruments? Should I start using Native Access or still continue with Service Center until the last quirks are gone?

I just used Native Access to download and install all of Komplete 10 Ultimate and while there was significant download time it all went well. It was a first install on my laptop with an external HDD for the samples.

I just used Native Access to install Replika XT, and also to update a couple of NI freebies. My only problem was that it automatically installed both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Replika XT when I only wanted the 64 bit version. But then I think Service Center also does this if my memory serves me correctly. And it seems to think I have Guitar Rig 3 LE (version 0.0.0 ) installed. I uninstalled that some time ago.
I'm off to see the Wibble, the wonderful Wibble of Wobble

Thanks guys. Maybe I'd best hang on to Service Center while adding Native Access.

The only problem I currently see with Native Access is that it can't register the FREE Libraries, as it is launched now when you select "Add Library" in Kontakt, but there is no way to "browse" to the Library. It wants a Serial #, and you can't bypass it.

I'd say that's a wise precaution. I've had NA act weird (ie. hang on a download) a couple times. Thankfully, SC then worked without a hitch.

I haven't had any problem with Native Access. Don't ever install after downloading updates by clicking on install in it though. Open and install on your own. Semi related but it sure makes me appreciate Toontracks dealio. Never had a problem and don't remember hearing of one.

Good point when it comes to installing library updates. The default folder is in a strange place and not where your library is located.

IIRC, if you instal by clicking in Service Center it deletes your download after install.

I have had major troubles with Native Access and upgrading from KU10 to KU11. It is a flawed system. But, at times, so was Service Center. But so far, for me, Native Access does not impress.

There a bug report on the last version of kontakt , concerning library import and all , do you have the last kontakt version ? I installed it for dronar , went back to older version , dronar will wait ...

Yes, I always stay current. The "add Library" thing is a minor nuisance, as I can still browse to load the instruments...so not a big deal.

Welp...it looks like everything EXCEPT Session Acoustic Guitar from KU11 will play with the "old" version of Kontakt 5 I'm forced to use. So I should be good to go...fingers crossed...until they come out with a newer version of K5 that will actually run on my system. Still not a single peep from NI tech support. Don't ya just love em?

You can set the samples folder in NA. I did and it works like a champ. No problems that I can recall except with that Blocks delaio. After the K11U update (which I did through NA) all is good to go.
