There is only "North America" in the Cakewalk Store

Having read the latest issue of the Mag (very useful and much appreciated) I got interested in all the talk of the concrete limiter.

Checked it wasn't included in SPLAT and then thought I'll have a look in the store.

It's there - its $79! Which is great if you are in North America...

I'm in the United Kingdom, So I went to "Choose Your own Country". Guess what you can't :-(

In fact, anything about my previous purchases, local pricing, anything is gone.

Is anyone else having a similar experience?

Best Regards

Hi. As long as you are logged into your account, you shouldn't have to choose country.
Just add to cart, choose payment, and you should be good to go.
Hope it helps.
All the best.

This thread was moved to the "Store": http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3621157

But I will repeat there: from behavior, copyright and indirectly announced in one other thread, CW has changed the shopping platform (from Cleverbridge to Digital River). That was not specially announced and as I have mentioned the first related question was immediately moved.

Sonar 8LE -> Platinum infinity, REAPER, Windows 10 pro
GA-EP35-DS3L, E7500, 4GB, GTX 1050 Ti, 2x500GB
RME Babyface Pro (M-Audio Audiophile Firewire/410, VS-20), Kawai CN43, TD-11, Roland A500S, Akai MPK Mini, Keystation Pro, etc.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for your replies. I didn't know about the change from Cleverbridge to digital river, but from my point of view its a backwards step.

Whilst I agree that when you used to be logged in and went to shop you would be automatically in the right country with the right currency and they would remember your address and payment type this is no longer the case. I am logged in and the moment I select "Store" it doesn't know who I am. In the top Right hand corner of the store page is a drop down box that says select country. The options are "United States", "Canada", "Japan" and Select another country. Try it! If you select another country you go back to the United States. this to me is a Fail and CW must be missing sales because of it...

Best Regards

yes, i see that now - looks like the new "store" (http://store.cakewalk.com/store/cakewalk/list/categoryID.4826913300 ) is disconnected from the product pages (http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR ), which still shows the login welcome - maybe they've only half-moved it?

the store should also be https surely?

Looks Likely.  Means I can't buy anything, and I assume no-one outside North America and Japan can either,  so you'd think someone would want to fix it soonest...

Hi Everyone,

Yes, we moved from Cleverbridge to Digital River as our e-commerce provider. Right now we only have support for United States Dollars, Canadian Dollars, and Japanese Yen. This is why the store is currently restricted to United States, Canada, and Japan.

At this time the United States store is open to allow purchases from all countries, meaning you can still purchase in USD with regular exchange rates. When you fill out your billing information you will be able to select your country if you are not in the United States.

We're planning to roll out support for more currencies in the future.

And yes, logging into your Cakewalk Account is no longer a requirement to make a purchase. Your account is still necessary to access your software however.

Sorry for any confusion. Please feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

Best,

Ryan Munnis

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has wasted time on trying to change the country origin. I do not want to go through to end of sale to find out how much something costs and I wanted to upgrade Strum Sesh to GS2 but I don't wanna get the calculator out so I'll stay with the basic one I've got in Platinum. It shows how much thought goes into this poor service CW

Thank you Sir, it's nice to know it's not just me. I was tempted by the latest offer but I still can't purchase in my own currency. It a loss to CW's bottom line, but I'm sure they are doing so well they won't notice the loss of my business...

I made a few hints about it a few weeks back, you ain't the only one , the upgrade path for the flagship product is "silly price" currently..

it's cool in a sense,  my money either stays in my wallet or goes elsewhere. as for the whole import thing from outside the UK. well I try to buy stuff from UK based companies that sell it (plugin boutique , source etc) , that way at least they get a cut of the money also.
