SoundCloud finally implemented a turn Auto Play Off feature
I'm so happy SoundCloud decided to add this feature to their steaming service ... I don't know how many times I have listened to a tune , one of yours , one of mine and then when the song is over some other tune comes crashing in like a freaking elephant on a stampede  To add insult to injury in most cases the auto play tune is not somebody I even know and the music is in a genre I'm simply not into ... FWIW , I have never minded when I gave a songs forum member here a S C Love and their tune showed up right after one of mine  The next time you go on Sound Cloud you may see a dialog box where you can turn auto play off .. all the best , Kenny

Cool. That annoyed the crap out of me and most of the time it would play either REALLY bad hip hop or some weird meandering artsy fartsy "eclectic" crap that never seemed to go anywhere.
But do you have to be logged in to set it or is it like Youtube autoplay where you can turn it off once and it cookifies it so it stays off (until you clear your cookies)?

I haven't been logged when I saw the notification..a message shows up . Once opening the message in It's sort of like u tube ...where you have a switch .. jamesg1213

The artsy fartsy guys that invade with the "eclectic" crap that never seemed to go anywhere. ? I don't know ...I sure hope I paid them back in spades w one of my tunes after people heard their songs  Kenny

It's funny really but the whole issue of audio auto-playing in your browser was decided against as a matter of basic internet etiquette by the early 00's. And how we scoffed at those neanderthal 90's websites that would start playing music when you loaded them! The relentless pop-ups too. It all seemed so naive and, well, rude. We thought we were passed it.
And then for some bizarre reason, the last few years has seen the world of web design slipping back into that crass auto-playing tackiness. You can't visit a local news site without the video starting up, usually with ear splitting volume, to give you a completely pointless running commentary of the story that you're trying to read. Go to a band's website and you're treated to a recording of their latest release, whether you want it or not. And then of course you can't visit anyone's blog these days without a full screen pop up asking you to subscribe to their poxy newsletter being smashed into your face.
I'm convinced it's because Millennials are starting to dominate web design, and they're too young to remember the horrors of the 1990's information superhighway. I guess in the absence of internet history lessons, we're doomed to repeat it.

OK let me show you how I found this by accident ... I had my browser cleared and this is what I got the first time I became aware of this hidden feature .  After hitting OK that went away and I hit the thing that is highlighted in the circle ... this is what I got .As you can see I hit the switch to turn auto play off .  Once the auto play station has been set to off , when the song ends the song ends and there is silence FWIW , I understand that this can be confusing .I wanted to come back here and show folks here how to do this . Now here's what happened when I went to one of your SoundCloud pages ... I dialed up an individual song and I didn't hit play ...here's what I got ... Notice the setting to turn auto play on and off is absent .  The moment I hit play on your song that little setting showed up again It shows up in the SoundCloud transport section as seen in the far right , right next to the heart  Notice I used your song Happy Accidents as an example  I did that because It is entirely possible that this feature has been a part of SoundCloud forever & "WE the people " just didn't know about it Kenny

OK after cruising around and listening to various SoundCloud offerings I have noticed that the auto play setting does not work global like the u tube version ..it seems to work on a tune per tune basis ...either way it is still a blessing Kenny
