Help, i can't use Nexus and Sylenth vstis

I have this weird stuff...

1: if i load nexus 2.2 into a new project i get the sound of the plugin all distorted and clipped, but if i load an old project containing nexus already and i play on it the sound is ok

2: I've installed sylenth1 32bit a time ago and worked fine, but now when i load the plugin my sonar crashes

First and foremost, I believe there is a new update for the Scarlett 2cnd gen's. It came out last week.
https://global.focusrite.com/downloads?product=Scarlett+2i4

Second, what is your midi buffer rate set at ?
I would try setting it at 500 and do some tests. I would also double check something didn't go array with your Focusrite settings. Open the Focusrite soundcard window and make sure it is running in ASIO mode.

Raise your ASIO buffers to 256 or 512. 64 may be too low for that synth and project

in 256 you can't play without noticing the latency and is ridiculous to have a supposedly good audio interface and not be able to play fine in real time.... and is not a solution neither because raising the buffer to 1000 still gives clipping

when i used mi integrated sound card with asio4all i didn't had this problem.... this simply cannot be

I run 500 here and all is fine. im not sure what you mean.

To the OP, did you download the Focusrite driver that came out last week ?
There has been some troubles using the old 2nd gen Focusrite driver. Install the new one.
Then power down your Scarlet for 60 seconds and check your cables to the usb port (Make certain you are plugging in to a USB 2 port and not a USB 3 port.

Also CJ is correct 64 is low.

Clipping?? Raising buffers will never cause clipping. Perhaps you have other issues if you are clipping.

FYI: on my PC, i do not notice any latency when my buffers are set to 256 when triggering soft synths.

Could be a graphics issue causing some of the artifacts. Try updating your drivers for the graphics card.
Have you had Graphics issues in the past ?
I don't know man, not sure there is any simple solution here. or a "Ya I know what that is".

Absolutely not. I've seen Graphics cards cause a lot of sound trouble.
I would look for updates for the video card and open GL as well.

Have you tried running latencymon?  Sonar is very particular in what it demands of an audio interface and your system has to be configured to allow that type of load. I would start with latencymon first, then make sure core parking/turbo boost whatever your motherboard calls it is disabled. It sounds like a system problem to me.

Finally, if there isn't a 64bit version of Nexus, it might be time to find a new favorite synth.

Dan

yes i have latencymon but i don't understand how to read all the information that the program gives...

i have my cores unparked and power saving options in the bios disabled, you mean that i need to do the opposite?

i don't want to stop using nexus, i love it, the sounds are sweet and so rich, i didn't found yet another vsti sounding so nice

What were your latencymon results?

Disabling those options in the BIOS is the right thing to do, so it sounds like you are good there.

If there are no 64bit updates, and latencymon says everything's cool, another option would be to try running these older VSTi8's through Jbridge (third party) rather than Bitbridge (comes with Sonar).

One other thing to consider is whether you are running your audio interface at a sample rate that the VSTi doesn't support.

Dan

Nexus 2.2 is an incredibly old version of Nexus (latest is 2.7.4).  v2.2 is notoriously cracked:  You see a lot of "problems" reported by v2.2 users who never report back when you tell them to update it. (They can't update it for obvious reasons).

So update to version 2.7.4 and report back...

Did you get to send a message to them ?

Update here:
Download the latest update to Nexus2 from your account page. Click on either 'OSX' or 'Windows' to download the correct version for your system.
Double-click the installer to run it. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the update.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are using Windows, install the update to the same path as the previous version, so that the older file is overwritten.
