Another thumbs up for ADK

As I mentioned in another thread, my RME drivers suddenly disappeared.

After exhausting my minimal knowledge fixing these things and turning to the forum for help, I called ADK.  They spent close to 30 minutes on the phone with me discussing the problem.  They also said that Chris could jump on my PC after normal tech support hours, since my hours and theirs do not line up well.

For those looking to buy a prebuilt DAW - I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.  This is my 3rd or 4th DAW from them, starting with the original dual core PIV (maybe?).

My current setup is below - but in general terms, rack mounted 3.6GHz 6 core 32 GB RAM, 1TB system drive, 3 3 TB other storage drives... in other words - smoking.  I can routinely get my latency down to 2.6 msec (I think that is the number - at work so my feeble memory is working here) and not bog down on anything.  That is using a bunch of NI and Arturia plugs, plus tons of UAD stuff - and my console 1.  The thread bars are barely moving at 30 tracks.

Great job ADK!

Some people call me Maurice

SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc.  Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad.  2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1.  More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent.  Zendrum!!!

Evil Internet say there can be no i7 systems older then 8 years

I have many computers over 10 years old, inclusive 2 (originally from many) 24/7 servers. One even still has original disks (I look away from S.M.A.R.T. numbers...). But I still have not seen 24/7 (or close to that) computer which after 10 years still produce the same level of noise (even best fans have resource around 5-6 years permanent running, except industrial versions which are noisy right from the beginning).

A link to ADK's website would be nice.  The link will help forum members that are not familiar with the company find them easier.

Is this the ADK you are complementing?  https://www.adkproaudio.com/

The weight is not impressive... But what is more questionable in audio PC is the cooling solution and noise level. That is the only reason i HATE my Dell XPS: usb-c connected - noise, NVidia working - noise, USB3 hub connected - noise. Effectively when I am in Linux, on Intel graphics and USB3 Ethernet (only, without hub), I can enjoy the silence. I hope ADK is better in that respect.

No, for gamers Dell has Alienware...
XPS is an office solution (thin and light) for someone who needs a bit of processing power (in CPU and GPU). Only 2 USB ports and NO Ethernet (I have overseen that). My old notebook has died and I had to get something quick... My colleague has chosen it based on display (almost only...) and I have ordered the same (it was simpler and faster to just say "the same" then look around).

Mentioned ADK is something in-between XPS and Alienware (in spec/price/weight).

ADK all the way. Service after the sale makes it worth it. Their stuff works. Buy the best and cry once.
