VST scan help

How to force past a fail vst?
safe mode+Sonar + rescan failed plug-ins = off
vst scan is getting stuck. "C:\Program Files (x86)\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums" I don't use 32bit vst.

    If you do not use the 32 bit version you could try removing it from the scan path in the Cakewalk Plugin Manager.

    Kill the scan process in Task manager and reopen Sonar and try the scan again.
    this has happened to me once in the past and once I retired it, it worked.
     
    Which version of Sonar X4 (I see in your sig) are you using ?

    I presume pressing OK does nothing. If so, do a force close of Sonar by shutting down relevant processes SONARPLT.EXE, Bitbridge and anything like dongle drivers that might be running. SYNPOSYS for example. Control Alt Delete
     
    Rename Addictive Drums to Addictive drums.old for example. Reinstall Addictive drums from Command Center and pay close attention to what paths are being installed during installation. Firstly do a search for the missing folder and relocate it, as that might be a quicker fix. 
     
    That's a couple of things I would do.

    When running 64bit SONAR, the best thing to do is avoid installing 32bit plug-ins if possible. In the case where the manufacturer does not provide the ability to skip installing 32bit plug-ins, you want the 32bit versions for other software or if 32bit SONAR is on the same PC, put them in a path not in the 64bit Cakewalk scan path.
     
     Make sure there is no dialog hiding behind other windows waiting for user input. that said the process can get hung up. When the scanner gets hung, the only recourse ATM is kill the process in the Windows task manager. Then move the offending plug-in out of the scan path.

    I don't know that the offenders are 32bit  "Addictive Drums.dll" I moved them anyway to the desktop and re-scanning.
    Still getting stuck. It's looking for folders that are not installed.

    You are in a better position than anyone else to determine what the problem is. We can only speculate based on the information provided. It is possible to create a scan log by holding down the SHIFT key when clicking the Scan button in Preferences > File > VST Settings. The same place to set the scan path.
     
    Scan problems can happen when the scanner is asked to scan folders that do not contain VST plug-ins. Be as conservative as possible when adding paths to the scan path such as

    This is likely the result of the scanner trying to load something that should not be in the scan path. This looks like a supsicious scan path entry

     If this (or any parent of this path) is in the scan path, remove it.
