For those with a UAD card but not a Thunderbolt audio interface

Still trying to diagnose driver issues where my RME suddenly disappeared.
 
I noticed that there is an Apollo Thunderbolt Audio device under Sound in my device manager.  I have never seen that before, though i was never looking at it either.
 
I have a uad card, but I have (or used to) an RME interface.  Do you show the Thunderbolt Apollo interface under your Sound devices?

Form my fiddling with TB 2...UAD 2 and Motu TB.
 
On the task bar, when put on the bottom of the screen, near the clock, either out side the pop up icon holder, or in the pop up icon holder, you should see a lightning bolt icon.
 
You can open this up, by right clicking and selecting differing pages to see into, and setup any TB devices, and or networking through, or first device overrides....
 
If the RME is TB enabled? I think not , and you have not set it to the TB port...MS might see it as not installed properly and remove it...I think.
 
If RME is firewire, you might be able to get a TB to firewire adapter, and connect it to the TB chain of audio device you now see.
This should work, if not a legacy setting in Bios might help get that Firewire over TB to work.
 
As MS OS has odd ways of seeing into Drivers and signed bla bla...Perhaps, and it did not work for me, is to defeat the sign feature in security of the OS....as this is where I found my Audio Motu TB , had a unsigned part.
Audio driver would disappear when installed...poof.
 
Motu people told me to use the USB port and see what cooks.
Well it works with usb, but does not show up in the TB port of calling or device manager....win 10.
 
That is where I got MS to try via remote viewing, and even CW was in on it in the remote viewings!...no go...and I told myself, this is just nuts!
 
It was working okish with win 7, and 8.1...but internet icon had a red x on it, and would not solve with some saying do this or do that.
Internet was working in those OSes,...and TB was working with drivers.
 
Win 10 was pushed on me by MS techs, saying it would solve the internet problem...which was not a problem other than the red x....as it worked ok with that red x anyway.
 
So, who knows what causes this?
 
I did read, that the new MS protocols, will if they see fit, to remove any Software or such that may be deemed to be hacked, or not signed properly.
 
Again some installers might make bad Word or error in writing to the OS or folders...which could corrupt the installs.
 
 
So many things relied on, that may be unreliable in terms of what is causing this.
 
But that is where I Quite trying to solve Bla Bla of MS.
 
Thunderbolt is not the best on PC, ad MS wants to employ USB C....So the war on who's port is to support or cripple....is like Netscape and Internet Explorer...?...same old same old.
 
So, it is about market shares, sales, and getting their thing tied to the other with TB 3 with usb c port on it.
 
Push the upgrade and sales on PC side to hold both...Might solve?.
 
I am not ready to try, but have the new TB 3...I am just tired of troubleshooting MS crap!
 
So I am waiting to rebuild my two x99 machines at this time..No need...MAC PRO late 2014, is doing what my PC setups over time have never done ....
 
So, why frustrate myself with that now?...Well it does itch my mind to wana try...So I may be more help.
 
But, as it is, my help is ignored these days, and removed mostly.....lol.; again frustration is with it.

My solution works well enough for me, but am tempted to ride the beast again, just to prove my pointed spear, is stuck in its head office of mind , hearing the echo of my screaming in their ears!......lol...Did they hear?...

It looks like I have a very similar rig to yours except I'm in Win7 and you're on Win10. Oh, and I only have on FF800 and one UAD Quad.

But didn't Win 10 add some sort of Thunderbolt support?  That might have something to do with it....

You have to pay for that support?..i did...

But to be honest the new TB 3 with usb c is the added support plan....
 
TB 2 might not work properly....as it was said, in a forum I read, TB uses direct Memory access, and can be a threat to stability of the OS ...if it brings in a doorway into that estate without proper controls put first to monitor its workings.
 
So, as the OS is Burdened with security issues of open cores of secret codexes....A need to sabotage perhaps , until support for was made secure?.
 
Or, MS wants to master its own part put towards so as USB C licence is with it, and the standard wars continue to plague the user.
 
Which one is best?....the one that works....most might say.
But are either truly in anyones favour is dependent on what You may want to do with it, as a user....if you want to do this or that...does it work proper??.....if should if standards are put in place....But here this:
 
If Standards are always changing...at some point in time, it will not work, to push the new standard upon.
 
That is why they stop supporting X OS and or cause some part to stop working....So you buy the next thing being tooted as the way....Yet it is never the way...it is just another circle to make people pay more for more of...it kind of working...then working might be for a time, then...not working..and troubles put, to stress the mind to solve for..or make it work.
 
And this takes time away for...other things....and more time lost trying to make something work, that is not truly necessary for living....And it cost, and is now big busness....Tech support.
 
So, you pay some, and still even they cannot solve, and blame this or that...round in circles you go...wanting it to work as some word said it would...Yet it is plagues with bugs...bad code put to make it worse ...and frustration begins in mind and spirit.....Then, ..more stress listening to the mediums news of this or that violation or Life done by.....The creation of the systems unseen product.....Terror, or opposers of...Something being made wrong saying it is right...or bad being good, while slaughtering the Good for the bad to be....And this seems intrenched by?...is it imposed?....Saying they put Support for TB into the OS, that has been plagued with issues and so  many updates...to push down on users Games....Is this wanted to be installed by user?...If no, yet it is done regardless of Your wants or desires....))what does that say about what you want to do with the machine and them having control over what you install...if it be removed, and what they install without your permission onto your machine?((
 
Echo it in your head first...does this seem like a fare system of play...if they break it to sell you support?...and charge you for that...and then break it, so they can say we are adding more support, yet you now have to toss TB or TB2...and Buy another card for TB3 and USB C...Then, you wasted time...and they lead you to that lost time....
 
And more frustrations coming soon....ah Candy Crush...if you reach level xxx You have some play in that I guess! being a free ideal of them playing with our heads....and I am not amused?....Well who be the fool for buying in?....Well it is given, so no loss with me.
 
But some, have worked hard here trying to solve for...and they be Good souls I know some are!
 
And that is why I do not blame them for making bad attempts to debug the OS or the bad codes put...to frustrate people....It sure is a awakening....Better to go out and live a little, doing what ever good one can, to make the Earth Healthy...just to balance the force proper!.
 
That is my understanding of Support for what is important for living...is to give a helping hand to make it more so sought....What is important to give, and share, and be good onto...is not fixing their mistakes...But our own, thinking some have our best interests at heart...When they only use us, to make capital in wealth, you will never taste in truth...and if you do, you will be asked to murder something on the other side, or offer up a sacrifice, and allow people be made dead for....Profits made.
 
Kill with poison...kill with lies...kill the hope, kill the spirit and make the frustrated...stress kills also eh?
 
 
So, I hear the Moto of MS...Trust MS...Why?...I ask now, more so..after that Trust has been given so long...never getting any satisfaction with proper clean DA or AD with DAWs and Midi all tied together...Perhaps now?...after Aprils Updates...It might be with a more understanding...Trust works both ways...Not just one.

And the end, is only the beginning....Someone told me of the lies they will say..We went to the moon...Yah yah...not with machines lessor this one...I have, and it cannot make any proper computations without...freezing up, or spewing out of crackle and glitching it's way through a session in time oddly stated...It works with x y and z...

They claim win 7 be the best to rest on.
 
But that support is tempting me to find out..but...the two systems I wait to do something with in the PC world...Might just be test beds for Hackintoshes...and their newer OS coming soon ,...

I give up on MS promises and dreams of a cheaper system...As these ones of x99 are in almost same as Apple now..depending on what you want to do with them...they should do almost all tasks with the amount of speed, memory, and cpus of multi threads and such, if so two or more cpu's some try...
 
Just seems Like the rush to make something new to sell...but leave common sense and lesson in the well...and make bad mistakes to piss off the masses.....Is ,As I believe...Mind control to stress a negative energy out of people...so they feel lost, and not having any purpose...Because they take away the rights...in ULA..to not tamper too much into seeing their bent codex....or adjusting or hacking it to do as you want or I want or they may want....
 
So, to be entrapped to their will...Not ours...and not in our best interests...they dick people around to sell them a solution in tech support....Yep..or upgrades..pay more..get more bla bla...Round in circles.
 
 
If you want to believe...support is, and it is....then good for them.
 
But, if they add games and other spying things...to manipulate the system with bent code put...you might be able to turn off...but they can turn it back on...The face of a game..but may not be one...is put with out permission much now...too much security over a simple OS?....
 
Must be something a mess in there put, that should not be...and they do not want you tampering with that...so, a door or portal into Via connected wire, or other?..internet or blu tooth...or just plugging in the wall via electrical...It is tied to something of Jinn ever since it was made...buggy...it has always been....so, it must remain?....No, it could be fixed...But , You have no rights to do that...or I , or anyone else....if not part of the Team of saying Trust US...
 
And you pay more and more and more waiting for what you want to do, be done...is waiting, because they want to do first...on your time, and your dime...Spy....Now this is warfare of mistrust being imposed.

I would say...it has been revealed...something ugly with the industrial mind...if it harms the base codex and elements to pollute all life....why pay?...idol makes it all tainted it is said....So...Proof....are you a witnessing people on all PC forums saying something is not proper with OS MS and whatever software you want to use, a error occurs in some odd way.......Why?
 
And MS or Apple PC or computers or mediums or spells of sooths sayers...are not the source of Trust or Truths...that comes out of the mouth and is guided by the hearts and minds of Good will, Good spirits..Good or very good...or perfect.....is only when all of those qualities are in you all....reality is what is in you put right...if it works for you...if you work for it...you got it all wrong.
