Remote control for RECORD??

Greetings my fellow Sonarians.... Cakewalkites? Eh.

I'm an old guy. And, I am now beginning to understand why the thing about old dogs and new tricks is a cliché. But, there is ONE last trick I want to learn before I get to that great reverb chamber in the sky...

How can I go about starting RECORD remotely with my Sonar Platinum? I think I recall a single fader deal (Presonus, maybe) from several years ago that I considered looking into but I missed my window- not even sure it did what I hoped. I have recently purchased a second home and it has the BEST potential for a recording space that I've owned yet, but I'd absolutely love to be able to start my Sonar from the next room over. You know... the old knees ain't what they used to be.

This forum has been so great over the years, so I know if there is a fix some heart of gold music geek will come through for me.

Thanks everyone, and have a fantastic day!

    The answer depends from conditions:
    a) if you computer has local network connections, there are many options. From the "toy" you can try immediately: http://www.azslow.com/index.php/topic,288.0.html, more capable solution: http://www.azslow.com/index.php/topic,295.0.html or other in that direction (TouchDAW, Lemur) up to networked hardware controller (X-Touch)
    b) when (a) is not an option, but the distance is small (<=10m), any USB MIDI controller can do the trick
    c) if the distance is small, but there is no possibility to put the cable and no networking, no longer produced TranzPort is the only known for me dedicated option. But you can try with wireless computer keyboard, some have reasonable working distance.

My audio input device, VS 100, has a remote switch port from which I can hook up a foot pedal. From that I can play and record. Works well. But I do like OSC Touch powered by azslow's act controller. With that I have a remote button to undo as many bad takes as I can produce. Plus i can record to a different track and much, much more.
