Hello Dave ,
Acoustic Guitars sound very nice , also like what your harmonica playing brought to the song ...
It gave your tune an organic Dylan type of vibe and sound ... regarding the vocals , since I don't sing , I don't generally comment on vocals .
I thought your song was a good listen and as it stands it makes a great little demo ...
I suppose if your open to crit's mine would be these few ...
IMHO, A nice low impact Fender Bass , or an acoustic Bass added to your song would bring it up a notch , also some light percussion in place of drums ...

Kenny, thanks for the listen and comments. I hadn't thought about adding bass to the track, but some others have commented that it needed some low end and that would provide it. I wrestled with whether or not to use percussion (a tambourine or some other hand drum) but since I didn't have anything available (acoustically) I opted to keep it simple.

Hi Dave - very much enjoyed Up North. Concur with the comments about a bass line and percussion - would add some depth and drive. My only personal suggestion would be a female vocal to add some variety. Perhaps just in the chorus and possibly a touch of harmony. I think it would add that extra sparkle to an already great song.

nice harmonica on the intro...
good acoustic captures,
and i like the vocal harmonies, and the doubling.
it'd be easy to take this to the next level,
and do a full band production....
kinda like modern country, even tho this isn't country.
this sounds closer to neil in spirit.

Hey Dave. I agree with many comments here. You have a very nice layout, but a bit naked. That's ok though. Nothing wrong with naked. Nevertheless, adding trinkets on this well shaped tree would indeed light it up. Even if you just added some nice vocal harmonies you could take it up another level. In any event, you have a very nice tune here and I'm here to tell you-among others! Dean.

I wouldn't have thought of it if others hadn't mentioned it, but it does have a bit of Neil-ishness, probably from the acoustic + vocal + harmonica. The vocal harmonies sound good... wouldn't mind hearing some on the chorus.
