Heads Up SpaceBar 1st character on trackname
I had inadvertently used SpaceBar for the 1st character whilst manipulating audio filename by changing the track name before executing the process, in this case, apply effect command.
SONAR takes the track name and used that to name the resultant audio file.
No trouble.
SONAR writes a new filename.wav to the project audio directory.
The 1st character of the audio file was
Spacebar,
The 6 and 8 bit of the ascii code combination, spaceBar.
Rushin, and I didn't notice the space there,
But all worked good.
Until I moved the data to a new drive.
Windows,unbeknownst to me, until now,
Is not capable of moving or copying files that contain SpaceBar for the 1st or 1st and 2nd characters on 5 of the 18 files
Luck. Luck it wasn't thousands of files.
Windows copied or moved the files, but,
The SpaceBar is deleted.
Or disregarded..whatevet.
It isn't there.
Then,
The find missing audio dialog comes up.
The files, some of them,14 of the 18, exist on the original drive as reported by a certain program that can find deleted files after they have been moved.
The original has a space bar as 1st character in the audio filename.wav.
So heads up, to me
Be careful of naming tracks.
And maybe SONAR can disallow using SpaceBar as the 1st characters of a track name, or use what Windows is doing, disregarding the bar when making newfilenames of audio files.
I tried naming a file as a test, using notepad.
Can't use SpaceBar, I could use space as the 1st character, but
When the rename command executed,
The SpaceBar wasn't used as the 1st character,
Same thing on copied and moved.
So heads up to me and to uze guys,
Ladies 2.
The mIx,
On another note,
Turned out really well
Thank you SONAR.
Later.
Fyi
I'm gone
