Well, this never happened before.
I had sent a .wav file to my son in Japan on one of the projects we've been working on. After listening to it he suggested a change. When I opened up the project, all the audio waveforms and sounds were gone. Fortunately, this project is in the mixing stage, with a file name of "file_name 021717 Rev T Mix2. I only made a small change to one track and was able to add it to ...Mix 1 and I was back in business. How can all the audio sounds and waveforms go tango uniform? I didn't move any project files around. Walt

Do you mean the audio folder was suddenly empty or that the clip waveforms went flatline, or that everything was visually as before, but no sounds came through?

If you export audio with a track solo'd which is not the track you are exporting, you will have a track with only your selected dither. Sonar doesn't warm you when you do this.
To say it differently, export only exports the selected track, but if it is muted or another track is marked for solo, you get silence.
Sorry if my comment totally misses the point. I think it does.
For another idea, maybe the wave forms needed to be rebuilt? When you hit play was there sound?
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I have an idea how this might have happened, but can't believe I would have done this. When I export a mix, I first resize the project so it fits the screen. I then use the select tool to select all the audio I want to export. Here's the part I don't believe I would have done. After the export, I would have had to hit "Delete", wiping out all the audio, and then hit "Save". This is not my normal workflow.... Even the AutoSave for this iteration didn't have any audio. I'm glad I use "Save As" and change the Rev. or Mix many times during the course of generating a project. Walt

Are you sure you didn't do a "save as" but neglected to check "Copy Audio With Project"?

When I've made several modifications to a project, I use "save as" to give it a new revision letter. If I'm going to make a change to a mix, the first thing I do is change the mix number. When I'm finished with my "tweaks" I export the mix giving the .wav file the same mix number. This way I always have a project file that is the same as a .wav file, in case I want to go back to an earlier mix. So I wouldn't have used "save as" after exporting the new mix. I could have been rushed by "Honey, suppers ready", and did some dumb keyboard moves without looking at the screen... Walt

I always use "select none" when I export. I can now see a second reason for the wisdom in this.

I used to do that, or CTRL A, but found that on some songs the .wav file would go on for awhile due to an automation node that extended beyond the end of the song. Walt
