Trying to update the firmware in my Mackie MCU extenders

I have an MCU and two extenders (not the newer pro units)  My MCU has the last issued firmware 2.1.2  One of my extenders has 2.1.0 and the other extender doesn't show any version on the display at all.  How do I get each extender upgraded to the 2.1.2 like the MCU?  Any idea why the one extender has no version number in the display? Is it a version 1 or something that needs a chip replaced in order to upgrade?
Thanks for any help in advance,
Barry

I know im behind on my firmware update myself but my Mackie Control MCU is working fine within sonar.
FYI- ive been looking for one of the original extenders forever (the C4).
I was a bit concerned about the firmware update as well but it hasn't stopped me from using it with Sonar and using almost all of its functionality. The Mackie Control within Sonar is great.

Have you had it hooked up and using it with Sonar ?
And is it, do you have an issue with the extenders ? that could be to do with the MCU and the extender themselves.

For what it is worth, the upgrade is in the form of a chip I believe. The newer ones can update through USB.
But our units, the older ones are midi.

Both of my extenders have the 2.1.0 chip.  Only one of them is not showing the version on the display.  They are both working with sonar as is my MCU.  I guess I can just try updating each extender via midi sysex dump with the downloaded files from Mackie.  First to 2.1.1 and then to 2.1.2  We'll see what happens.  I'll let you know.

To be fair, this topic has nothing to do with sonar. they were right to move it.
At any rate, I wouldn't worry about the firmware updates too much. as long as they are working with that's all that matters really

They were also pretty darn fast to move it.  I appreciate your replies Chuckebaby.  I just ordered a used power supply board for the one with no version display as it starting squealing like my other one did before I swapped the board out in it.  As soon as I get it back up and running I'll do the update and let you know what happens.

I have a Mackie c4 running firmware version 1.02. Is there a way to put in standalone demo mode or self test? ?
