i've got a two-fer; 2 new song mixes for review

"pura vida" - mix #1--final mixes for new album
(((took mixes down)))
i've got 10 songs almost finished for a new album release.
any suggestions on final tweaks, eq issues, translation issues, etc, are appreciated.
this is mix #1 of this song.
AND IT WAS MASTERED TOO HOT!
LOL
i'll probably come down from a 10DR, to a 12.

i'll only leave these up a few days each.
looking for translation issues, if any.

Tasty guitar playing!  Your songs would sound great over an array of speakers with thousands of adoring fans.  Too bad the music business is f****d, you'd be big. :D

I gave one tune a listen ( all I have time for right now ) ...I'll come back

Listened to Pura Vida A .  I thought your song displayed a great deal of your talent in a number of areas I feel you have no equals with here on this forum ...
Loved the acoustic guitar vibe and playing ...sweet ...one or two runs there were a little suspicious , but even those did display a desire to play totally outside of the box and serve your song ...
Loved your voice , I have always enjoyed the way you sing . If there was ever a person on the forum that I wished I could sing like that would be you ...
Holy Smokes bat...at 2:48 I thought you had CSNY sitting in there with you doing the vocals
Overall Yeah , I think your on to something with where you have been going with your music .

I do hope you get there , best of luck

Both songs translate excellent on these little PC speakers at work.  Haven't listened over the flat home system yet.

I liked them both too. The lead acoustic in the first song is mostly (or entirely) a pickup rather than a mic, and normally I wouldn't care for that, but in this case it seemed to fit right in. Nice vocals as well.

wow kenny, glad you dig the acoustic one...
that song may sound a bit loosy goosy, reason for that, is that when i sat down to write it, the first guitar part, which was kinda made up as i went along, became the keeper, and everything else followed that.
so, basically, i was wingin' it!

    hi wayfarer!
the first tune, pura vida, is all aooustic,
miced with a single audio technica AT4033, thru a A Designs MP-1 tube mic preamp, into a dbx compressor, and into the recorder.

there are no pickups in either of my acoustics, so it's not even an option for me!
i have thought about putting on in my taylor,
sometimes if you play that one just right, it almost sounds amplified.

Really excellent Rob, both of them. Put me down for an album when it's done. Long Journey had a cool vibe, brought Physical Graffiti to mind.

    hey james,
    thanks for the kind words.
yea, long journey,  i was definitely in a zep mood when i wrote that one.

it's inspired from true events. not mine, but a friends.

tho, i can imagine anyone going on a trip somewhere, that they've never been before, and it takes a while to get there,
    can relate to this one.
