Automation read not working when upsampling is turned on + quick question

Hello, I wanted to report that a 9 out of 10 times the automation is not working when the upsampling is turned on. It doesn't read the automation. When I turn the upsampling off the automation starts working as it should again. It's a bug and it needs to be fixed. Recently I started to use upsampling on every project but unfortunately it causes a lot of problems (automation not working, crashes while writing automation by hand for example, crashes after inserting plugin-s etc.). However the better sound quality is worth the pain..
I also have a quick question. How can I apply the effect only to selected portion of the clip (without splitting it and dragging plugin into clip fx bin)? For example I want to render some places on a guitar track using Izotope RX6 de-click to remove some pick clicks but I don't want to waste the time splitting before and after each click to apply the effect. Is that possible?

Also remember that upsampling can only upsample so far. If the plug-in you're using is already oversampling, then applying upsampling would be asking it to do something it can't do. Don't know if that's what's happening in your case, but it's a point to consider.
