Keystation-mini-32 midi, problem with timing when recording(recorded before time in Sonar)

Hi.

I recently bought a Keystation-Mini-32 midi keyboard. I'm using Sonar Platinum with a default ASIO driver in Windows 10. I have a Laptop MSI GT780DXR with 12GB RAM, and its motherboard 7.1 sound management.

I first had latency problems playing the keyboard, but I solved it reducing some buffer in Sonar configuration. But I still have a problem when recording since my midi recordings don't fit in time with previous tracks. It's common that it is recorded some miliseconds before where it should have been recorded (something like a negative latency at record time, or maybe some latency hearing the other tracks, I'm not sure). The thing is, I'm not sure if that negative latency is constant, since I think some few notes maybe are recorded correctly (or maybe it's me playing bad).

I've tried to change some configuration in Sonar related to buffers, timings, synchronizations, and recording things (with no much knowledge), and tried some advices from other forums for other similar cases with other component without success.
The last thing I've tried is to plug in a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 someone lend me, and see if with it as sound card the problem was solved (audio recording with Focusrite seems fine), but no success (even I experimented some broken sound problem when playing the keyboard with this combination).

Any thoughts about it? Any tests I could try?

Thank you.

Also make sure you don't have any latent effects in your fx bins (tracks and buses).

Thank you Brando.

What are you seeing for latency in ms?
I'm not using anything. I just record a simple test (when listening other midi tracks) and check in the piano view that the notes have been recorded just a little before I pressed them.

It only happens with midi tracks. If I record audio with the Focusrite, it's correctly synchronized.

I'll try tomorrow with the suggestions in your links to see if anything works.

Thank you again.

I mean, check the first link and report what the number is for latency in SONAR for your installation. It is a number in milliseconds.

Thank you, I think that solution made the trick.
