Midi controller

A warm Greetings Cakewalk community!

I just bought an Akai MPK mini and started up SONAR pro because I'm going to use it to produce music while on vacation.  I can see that SONAR pro has detected the MPK mini in preferences but when I open up my VST's I'm not getting any sound play back when I press the MPK keys.  Thoughts anyone?

Thank you very much,

LWD

If I remember correctly I had to install some sort of software/maybe a driver with mine.
Is it listed in Midi Devices output ?
Also make sure the routing is true (your input should be the MPK)
What VST Synth are you using ?

Also are you seeing midi activity in the track meters ?
What are you using for a soundcard device ? It may very well have nothing to do with the MPK but a soundcard device not working properly.

    Greetings Chuck,

Thanks for the response.  Everything midi in my setup is awkward right now.  I use Omnisphere 2 for VST's what puzzles me is now my other DAW isn't recognizing my other midi controller.  Alright I'll get back to work.

    Sincerely,
