Any thoughts on twin peaks reboot?

I like to think i can sort of understand david lynch movies to the extent they can be understood. Maybe its because im only 2/3rd thru this twin peaks reboot, but i am more confused than normal. If you happen to be keeping up with it, opine please

I like weird artsy crap but TP and Lynch's stuff in general just doesn't do it for me. It just seems like he's trying to be weird for the sake of weird instead of there being any real, thoughtful subtext/analogies going on.

And I could forgive that to an extent if his stuff was more visual stunning... like a moving painting but there is so much better stuff out ther for that.

That said maybe the reboot will be cool with the new film techniques.

Also... and this is blasphemy amongst many of my "people" but I thought "Eraserhead" was boring and dumb too.

    Hi,

Fell asleep with the originals and still do with the copies!

Honestly, David Lynch's original, was not that good, and if he had (at least) been honest enough to say that many film makers he copied outright and did not credit, it might have been more interesting. Instead he just turned it all inside out and made it weird, so we ended up thinking there was some content in there somewhere under the floor boards, or ... somewhere else ... the trash can ... wait a minute, that would be FARGO, right>

Not original enough for me. Over rated all the way!

Fargo is in my top 10 movies. The TV series is different, but the same..Martin Freeman does a great William H Macy (albeit a different character). I reckon you'd like it.

Thanks. I'll check it out. We seem to appreciate the same types of shows/films so that's a better recommendation than you may think.

    Cheers.

I couldn't get into twin peaks.

+10 for the Fargo TV series. This last season was a little slow but still good.

Supposedly, they are starting up the X-Files again. I'm waiting on it.
