Do i have to match the recording settings on my speakers ?

So i record in 24bit 48000 into Sonar , do i have to then set my speakers to that as well  ?

There are no issues , i am just curious if that is how it works

Thanks

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you mean playback what you have recorded? Usually speakers don't have settings, unless they are a direct digital connection that has a built in audio interface. Usually what you set your audio interface to record with (24, 16 bit, 44.1k, 48k) is what it will playback with as well. However, am pretty sure all the audio is mixed down to whatever the project settings are before it is given to your audio interface.  Therefore, you don't have to match your audio driver settings to the current project settings but it might make sense to keep things in sync so you can hear what you have recorded.

Yeah i mean in windows sound settings , I have the exact same option in there for playback , i was wondering if it has to be set to the same as what i have in project settings or if i can lower it with no issues to something like 16bit 44Hz purely for playback on my pc .
As 24bit playback is messing up my game capture program , it doesn't like 24 bit for some reason .

I'm on an iPhone so I can't really tell if your specs I listed in your signature. But that would be a good place to start. List you're a sound card and speakers

You can only playback at the project samplerate. Bit depth doesn't matter. It sounds like you're using your motherboard's built-in sound chip. In that case it really hardly matters what recording quality you set in Sonar, just use whatever is most convenient.
