Morning Glorys and Moles

Still love the Morning Glory flower (Ipomea sp)

Has all the mystic, transcendental aspects in its nature, poetic stuff and the like.
Flower blooms and opens at dawn, follows the sun. Heart shaped leaves as in the heart and love. Seeds, a powerful LSD hallucinogen, gateway to possible other worldly experience if you got the balls to put up with the first couple hours. Gracefully entwines around its host in a love embrace for support and mutual dependence.

Last aspect driving me nuts right now trying to weed out the damn things before they choke out everything.

Then the recent mole invasion. They infested over night and are turning my yard and the neighbors into Swiss cheese. Don't want to kill the little bastards, but nuked all their holes and paths with a zinc pellet overdose claimed to send them into the next world. Easier than an advised coffee can technique, humane complex strategy to trap them and set them free in your other neighbor's yard. Guess I failed the compassion test.

Any advice on Morning Glory and mole control?

John

Got the mole poison down enough to nuke everything that lives.

Morning glory patches weeded out for now. Sad, such a waste of good LSD. Any of you guys ever tried them? (just curious, not advising in any way to test them out)

moles are part of the landscape.  why artificially impose your world view on nature?  I doubt you're going to eat them.

No, vegetarian. However, the place is being chewed up. Followed by an infestation of cats crapping all over the place and digging everything up even worse. The smell is quite bad. Just trying to clean up my world view for about a hundred foot radius. Got nothing against the cute fuzzy little critters as long as they dig somewhere else.

Eph, you're beating me up, just beatin me up..

Actually love cats and always had one or more til I got married and the wife and daughter have a severe allergy. On the front end, it was cats or the wife. It took awhile.

Problem with the cats is compounded worse by their love for the Salal berries and the wild rose fruits. They gorge on them, get sick and explode from both ends. Quite colorful. The rose slime puddles out back are bright orange against the swarm of large black flies. The Salal pools are almost dayglo pink. They smell about the same. The air is quite perfumed. The place is buzzing with industry, above and below ground.

Between the cat puke and crap, the stink of the dead moles and the small ocean side pathway looking like a torn up black plague zone, hope you don't get offended if I pull out some better living thru chemistry.

Cheer up Dave, that little puppet dictator in North Korea will send a nuke over our way and none of these little issues will matter any more.
