Software config

I'm trying to figure out the optimal number of drives and how to configure the software. Just got a new mobile workstation and upgraded Sonar Producer. Now I am wondering if it's best to have the Sonar program on the C drive and all of the data including sample libraries on the auxiliary drive or should I put Sonar program on the C drive, the data on the auxilary drive and also the other audio programs, data and samples on the auxilary drive. My C drive is SS, but small, only 256 gigs. I'm going to buy another SS drive and put it in my laptop, but thought I would get advice first.

Thanks for the help. Cakewalk's user forums have always been great.

Let me try simplifying the question. Obviously the Sonar program will go on the C drive. So I guess my question is should I put the other audio programs and data on an auxilary drive along with the data from Sonar or put all the programs on the C drive and all the data on the auxilary drive. I have an external drive that I'll backup everything onto. Sorry for any confusion in my long-windedness

Most people put all programs on C. You've got lots of room for that.
Then all samples and data are stored to other drives.
Make sure to keep an eye on the Command Centre download folder... it gets huge and by default is on C drive. I just back mine up to an external and delete everything when doing housekeeping chores. You don't need th files once Sonar is installed.
